John T. Rhodes,
Manager of Rail Analysis, Capacity and Simulation
John Rhodes has worked on freight, passenger and equipment related assignments since joining RLBA. He analyzed railroad rights-of-way using railroad valuation maps along railroad corridors in Georgia. In addition, Mr. Rhodes has researched subjects related to freight rail issues including Federal Railroad Administration safety statistics, maintenance, railroad grade crossing whistle bans, and equipment selection and pricing. He assisted the City of Fremont California in the development of multiple railroad grade crossing whistle bans or “quiet zones.” Mr. Rhodes participated in an analysis of a Class I railroad to determine possible cost savings from increased investment in the railroad. He wrote a research paper at George Mason University, discussing the National Railroad Passenger Corporation’s role in the U.S. passenger transportation system, specifically the use of high-speed rail corridors and overnight rail corridors. Prior to joining RLBA, he worked for a public transit agency, managing data gathering and analyzing ridership and schedule adherence on a bus transit system.
