Lines of Business - Bulk Transportation: Coal, Minerals, Solid Waste, Grain

RLBA brings tremendous depth to its bulk rail transportation assignments which have ranged from helping public utilities secure better railroad access through various operational and construction alternatives to rail contract negotiation and compliance, operating and engineering analyses, rail line valuation and, in some cases, the creation of an entire rail transportation system “from the ground up.” RLBA has evaluated the competitive economics of unit coal train movements and participated in rail contract development involving electric and solid waste utilities, coal companies, industrial companies and railroads. The firm also has been heavily involved in Surface Transportation Board and other regulatory proceedings. Such multidisciplinary project experience is fundamental to bulk transportation, as the key strategic issues and approaches to their successful resolution do not vary significantly regardless of whether the commodity involved is coal, grain, iron ore, solid waste, construction aggregates or ethanol. RLBA provides its clients with disciplined and timely performance, leading them to superior decisions, cost-effective solutions and enhanced productivity.
