Carolina Rail Services hired RLBA to estimate the cost of raising trackage capability to handle 286,000-pound cars and to provide an estimate of the annual cost of maintenance after its improvement. RLBA physically evaluated the track condition at the terminal operation in Morehead City. A desktop appraisal of three, EMD SW1200 model locomotives was also completed. The valuation was utilized in determining the possible purchase price of the Morehead City port terminal rail operation in addition to the assets of the port.
